Moosey! Terms of Use
Personal Budget Tracker for Canadians

Welcome to Moosey! (“the App”), a personal budget tracking application developed by Kenn Pain (“we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you (“you”, “the user”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Moosey!, you confirm that you are at least 17 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the App on behalf of a minor, you accept these Terms on their behalf and are responsible for their use of the App.
These Terms are in addition to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple EULA”), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, these Terms shall prevail to the extent permitted.
2. Description of Service
Moosey! is a privacy-first personal budget tracking application designed for Canadian users. The App provides the following features:
- Manual transaction tracking with categorization
- Budget creation and monitoring with progress tracking
- Financial goal and debt management
- Canadian tax-aware tracking (GST, HST, PST, QST by province)
- AI-powered voice input for transaction entry
- Receipt scanning via camera
- Manual bank balance connections
- Spending insights and analysis
- Encrypted local backup and restore
- Recurring transaction management
- Calendar-based transaction views
- CSV export and PDF reports (Premium)
Important: Moosey! is a personal budgeting tool, not a financial advisor, tax professional, or accounting service. All financial calculations, tax estimates, and insights are provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional financial or tax advice.
3. Privacy and Data
Your privacy is fundamental to Moosey!. The App operates on a privacy-first model:
- All data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your financial data on any server.
- There are no analytics, tracking, or third-party data collection services in the App.
- Backups are encrypted locally using AES-GCM encryption and remain under your control.
- Voice input processing uses Apple’s on-device Speech framework.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Free Tier
Moosey! offers a free tier with limited access to features, including but not limited to: a maximum of 2 financial goals, 2 bank connections, 2 recurring entries, 3 voice inputs per week, and 1 receipt scan per week. Feature limits are subject to change.
4.2 Free Trial
Moosey! may offer a one-time 7-day free trial of Premium features. The free trial:
- Is available once per device and cannot be reset or repeated
- Does not require payment information to activate
- Automatically expires after 7 days with no charge
- Is separate from any introductory offers provided through the App Store
4.3 Moosey Premium (Auto-Renewable Subscriptions)
Moosey! offers the following auto-renewable subscription options:
- Monthly: Billed monthly at the price displayed at the time of purchase
- Yearly: Billed annually at the price displayed at the time of purchase
Subscription details:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan.
- You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your device’s Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Prices are in your local currency as displayed in the App Store and may vary by region.
4.4 Refunds
All purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. We do not process refunds directly.
5. User Conduct
When using Moosey!, you agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful, personal budget tracking purposes
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Not attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions, free trial limitations, or any security features
- Not use the App to store or process data unrelated to personal financial tracking
- Not redistribute, sublicense, or make the App available to third parties
- Not use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, functionality, design, graphics, trademarks, and code within Moosey! are owned by Kenn Pain and are protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
The Moosey! name, logo, moose mascot, and all related branding are trademarks of Kenn Pain. You may not use these marks without prior written permission.
Your financial data entered into the App remains yours. We claim no ownership or rights over your personal financial information.
7. Disclaimers
7.1 No Financial Advice
Moosey! is not a financial advisor, tax consultant, or accounting service. The App provides tools for personal budgeting and informational estimates only. Tax calculations (GST, HST, PST, QST) are estimates and may not reflect current rates. Always consult a qualified financial professional or the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for tax and financial decisions.
7.2 “As Is” Provision
The App is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
7.3 No Guarantee of Accuracy
While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that:
- Financial calculations, tax estimates, or spending insights will be error-free
- The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or free of bugs
- Budget projections, debt payoff estimates, or savings goals will produce the stated results
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kenn Pain shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, profits, or financial opportunity
- Financial decisions made based on information provided by the App
- Inaccurate tax calculations or budget projections
- Device malfunction or data loss not caused by the App
- Interruption of service or inability to access the App
Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or subscription in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
9. Data Loss and Backups
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you are responsible for maintaining backups of your financial data. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from:
- Device damage, loss, or theft
- Operating system updates or device resets
- App deletion or reinstallation
- Failure to create or maintain encrypted backups
We strongly recommend regularly using the App’s built-in encrypted backup feature to protect your data.
10. Third-Party Services
The App may interact with the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store: For subscription processing and payment
- Apple Speech Framework: For on-device voice input processing
- Apple Camera Framework: For receipt scanning
These services are governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time
- Terminate or restrict access to the App if you violate these Terms
Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections regarding disclaimers, limitation of liability, intellectual property, and governing law survive termination.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page
- Notify users through the App where appropriate
Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the App.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Apple EULA, constitute the entire agreement between you and Kenn Pain regarding the use of Moosey!.
